• Duration: The procedure typically takes between 6 and 8 hours in a single session, depending on the number of hair follicles being transplanted.
• Anesthesia: The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis using local anesthesia. The patient does not feel pain and can return home the same day.

• Donor Area: Hair follicles are extracted from the occipital (back of the head) and temporal areas of the patient's own scalp, as these hairs are genetically programmed to resist hair loss.
• Rejection: There is no risk of rejection because this is an autologous transplant (using the patient's own hair). Hair from another person cannot be used.

• First Few Months: It is normal for the transplanted hair to shed during the first few weeks. This is part of the follicle's natural growth cycle, while the root remains intact.
• Growth Timeline: Initial visible hair growth typically begins around 6 months, while final results are generally evaluated after 12 months. In the crown area, results may take up to 18 months to fully develop.

• Sleeping Position: During the first 10 nights, patients should sleep in a semi-upright position with their head elevated to prevent friction and help control swelling.
• Scabbing: Scabs typically appear within the first few days and naturally fall off between days 7 and 10 with the gentle washing routine recommended by the clinic. They should never be scratched or picked.
• Hats and Exercise: A hat may be worn loosely starting after 10 days. Light exercise can generally be resumed after 15 days, while intense physical activity or sports involving potential impact should be avoided for approximately one month.
• Smoking and Alcohol: It is recommended to avoid alcohol, tobacco, and coffee for at least the first 7 days after the procedure, as well as during the preoperative period.

Transplanted hair is considered permanent because it is resistant to androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss). However, the native hair that was not transplanted remains susceptible to hair loss. Therefore, complementary medical treatment is often recommended to help slow its progression.
